About the Budget

  1. The budget information is arranged account head wise.

  2. The amounts given for 2013-14 (RE) seem to be the same as the figures for 2013-14 (BE).

  3. For 2014-15 (RE), only 9 months estimate is presented from April to December 2014.

  4. The amounts in the budget document are in Rupees. In the data set, they are shown as Rupees Lakhs.

  5. The budget estimates of 2013-14 are from the 2014-15 budget document, the budget estimates for 2014-15 are from the 2015-16 budget document and the budget estimates for 2015-16 and 2016-17 are from the 2016-17 budget document.

  6. The data set has taken the 2015-16 budget presentation as the template. Where the descriptions of budget items were marginally different in the 2016-17 budget, the 2015-16 budget descriptions were retained. Where there were significant changes in the 2016-17 budget, the data set was altered to reflect the 2016-17 descriptions.

  7. When there are nil allocations in the budget, the municipal corporation presents it as a dash or as a blank or a zero. In the data set, we have presented nil allocations as zero.
