Arrah Municipal Corporation Budget

Arrah Municipal Corporation budget provides major code wise details of each function head and functionary. It also provides details of receipts and expenditure by categorising these into revenue and capital accounts.

About the Budget

1.The budget documents of Arrah Municipal Corporation before 2016-17 were presented in a different format. Hence, separate datasets have been created for capturing the Arrah Municipal Corporation budget for 2016-17 and for the years 2014-15 and 2015- 16. The current data presents the budget for Arrah Municipal Corporation for the year 2016- 17. 2. The original budget document for 2016-17 provides data in the following manner: First the summary of receipts and expenditure are presented. This is Major Account Head wise. Next the receipts and expenditure are presented Minor Account Head wise. Following that, the receipts and expenditure are presented Detailed Account Head wise. 3. The 2016-17 budget document is more updated with account codes. 4. There are certain cases where the detailed codes have not been provided in the budget document and hence we have left these as blank cells in our data. 5. The budget documents provided by the Arrah Municipal Corporation does not have Detailed Code for Revenue Receipts and Capital Receipts. Therefore, in order to maintain uniformity with the data sets of Municipal Corporations in Bihar, the Detail Head Codes mentioned in Patna Municipal Corporation budget has been used assuming that same detail head codes are being used across the State of Bihar. 6. The figures in the original budget documents are not in Rs. Lakhs but for maintaining uniformity in the data set, we have converted the figures into Rs. Lakhs. 7. In the dataset we are using the terms 'Revised Estimates'. However in the original budget documents the term used is 'Approved Budget'.
