Health Sector comprises the government programmes associated with Urban & Rural Allopathy, Other Systems of Medicine (Ayurveda, Unani, Sidhha, Homeopathy & other public health intervention (including prevention & control of diseases, drug control, public health laboratories, and public health education). It includes expenditures on hospitals, dispensaries, primary health centres and research & development pertaining to health care & pharmaceuticals. In this sector, programmes related to rural & urban family welfare services, maternity and health, reproductive health services, immunization of children and mothers, sterility centres and helpers, mass health education programmes, village health guides, pre & post-partum centres, recruitment & training of health personnel are also included. The sector captures the allocations/expenditures through the department of Public Health and the Department of Family Welfare.
